Abby Ferenz, AMFT

Hi, I’m Abby, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT 151736). I’ve felt drawn to the field of therapy through my desire to understand and honor others’ perspectives, and to create a space where people feel seen and heard. I’m passionate about supporting adolescents, individuals, and couples as they explore relationship dynamics, strengthen communication, and build meaningful life skills.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Point Loma Nazarene University and have experience working in outpatient settings. Due to experience and personal relationships, I am able to connect with blue-collar communities, as well as military and law enforcement families. This allows me to bring a grounded, culturally aware perspective to my work.

I use an integrative, evidence-based approach, incorporating DBT, CBT, and IFS approaches. I also enjoy working from a holistic lens, informed by my experience creating and facilitating a holistic health group. Currently, I am expanding my training in somatic experiencing to further support the mind-body connection in the healing process. I have a special interest in working with couples and have completed Level 2 training in couples counseling through the Gottman Institute.

Outside of my work, I enjoy spending time in nature, traveling, and engaging in forms of healthy movement. I value experiencing different cultures and backgrounds, which continues to deepen my commitment to cultural competency and lifelong learning.

Whether you are navigating personal challenges or relationship concerns, my goal is to walk alongside you with curiosity, empathy, and care as you move toward growth and greater balance.
