Art Therapy
Art making can help us unlock experiences and memories that we have stored and are not able to connect with through words.
Through creative work we are actively accessing and stimulating our right brain, which forces us to move past our “normal” routine mental confines. With this alternative form of therapy, the product itself is not the goal; the new levels of awareness through the process and discovery of unconscious communication allowing art as the language is.
Through the integration of art in therapy, individuals are given the opportunity to explore their feelings, process emotions, engage in deeper self-awareness, gain new perspectives and open themselves to greater levels of freedom from their experiences of pain or anxiety, depression, and trauma.
