Leighla Etters, AMFT

Hi, I'm Leighla, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. For me, the heart of this work is helping people find relief, strengthen their relationships, and move forward with greater balance and confidence.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked in corporate leadership for over a decade, supporting individuals as they navigated stress and conflict at work. That experience gave me a front-row seat to how pressure and change can wear down even the most capable people. Having also spent time in the therapy chair as a client, I know the relief that comes from having a space that is both supportive and goal-oriented. My commitment is to provide that same calm, focused environment for each person who chooses to work with me.

In my clinical work, I support individuals, couples, and families through some of life's most challenging moments, when things feel overwhelming, relationships are under strain, grief or trauma has left its mark, or change brings uncertainty. I have successfully worked with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, complex trauma, disordered eating, and individuals within the neurodivergent community. My experience also includes working with those navigating end-of-life decisions, as well as caregivers, therapists, and other helping professionals who need space to reflect and reset.

I hold a master's degree in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University and a bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. I've also received advanced training in EMDR, EFT, IFS, and the Gottman Method, and I often integrate other evidence-based approaches depending on your needs.

Outside of the therapy room, I'm a wife, a mom of three, and someone who's always learning. You can usually find me at the ocean, sharing a meal with people I love, or enjoying a good audio book or podcast.
