Nicolle Cheatham, APCC
Hi! I’m Nicolle, an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside individuals and couples as they navigate life’s challenges. Outside the therapy office, my favorite thing to do is spend time with my husband and family. I also enjoy early morning walks with my dog Beckham along the beach trail, a good gym workout, and a meaningful Bible study. On weekends, you’ll usually find me soaking up a sunny afternoon at the beach or dreaming about my next travel adventure. I’m happiest when life is filled with meaningful conversations, fresh air, and time with the people I love.
My path to counseling was shaped by my own journey through difficult family dynamics, major hormonal shifts, seasons of anxiety, and major life transitions. Those experiences taught me firsthand how overwhelming life can feel, and that healing is possible. They inspired me to become a therapist to help others find hope, resilience, and lasting change.
I earned my Master of Arts in Counseling from The Townsend Institute of Counseling and Leadership at Concordia University Irvine. I have received training in Church Counseling, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and EMDR. As a lifelong learner, I aim to always be growing so I can offer the best care possible.
I specialize in working with individuals facing anxiety, trauma, grief, women’s issues, perinatal and postpartum support, life transitions, and relationship concerns. My approach is relational, collaborative, and integrative-recognizing the connection of mind, body, and spirit. I personalize therapy to each person’s unique story by weaving attachment-based therapy, psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Biblical principles, and EMDR with practical tools.
I believe therapy should feel like a safe place to land-a space where you can exhale, let your guard down, and know you don’t have to carry it all alone. My goal is to help you understand how your past has shaped the patterns and beliefs you carry today, build on your strengths, and develop healthier ways of coping and connecting. My deepest hope is that you leave with greater peace, stronger relationships, and the confidence to move forward with purpose.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. I am here to help!
